CGO hires Managing Director
New Glasgow, NS January 18, 2017 –
The Community Governed Nursing Home Society of Nova Scotia, commonly referred to as “CGO” is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Judy Heffern in the new role of Managing Director.
“I am pleased to join the organization and I am looking forward to meeting and working with the CGO members.”
Reporting to the CGO Board of Directors the Managing Director will participate on behalf of CGO in provincial initiatives, representing members in policy discussions and taking the lead on membership relations, all while ensuring the objectives and priorities of the society are front and centre.
“Judy brings to the table more than 25 years of healthcare management experience at the senior level, many of which were in long term care, giving her the knowledge and understanding necessary to mobilize our resources, create avenues to share expertise and build collective capacity, says Lisa M. Smith, Chair, CGO Board of Directors and CEO of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. “We are excited to have someone with such talent and competence advocate and promote CGO on the issues and initiatives that are impacting service delivery in our Nursing Homes.”
The CGO Society was formed in 2011 in support of Nursing Homes in Nova Scotia that are community governed, with a vision for ‘success through collective capacity’. CGO membership consists of 31 non-profit nursing homes throughout the province, representing almost 4,000 of Nova Scotia’s long-term nursing care beds, which equates to 58% of all residents and 80% of all non-profit beds.
