8:45 — KEYNOTE ADDRESS – An Underrepresented, Undervalued Workforce: Understanding and Supporting Quality of Work Life in Long-term Care with Dr. Janice Keefe, Professor/Chair of the Department of Family Studies and Gerontology at Mount Saint Vincent University; Lena Isabel Jodrey Chair in Gerontology; Director of the Nova Scotia Centre on Aging.
Dr. Keefe will provide meaningful quantitative information on the state of well being in work places within long term care and then share some insights into the qualitative and emotional impact being felt as well as the very real challenges that low workplace morales mean for the thriving and sustainability of the sector. We will begin a conversation on the very real adverse fallout behind the stats.
