ABOUT US
Evergreen Home for Special Care, since 1969, has been a privately owned continuous care provider, licenced by the Nova Scotia Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care serving clients regardless of age, sex, race, creed, and social status. The facility, which is licensed to provide 24-hour nursing coverage, is comprised of a Childrens’ Centre for 19 children plus two respite beds and a Seniors’ Centre consisting of 98 residents. All residents receive multi-disciplinary care based on a holistic resident centred approach to ensure physical, mental and spiritual well being while recognizing the right to individuality, respect and dignity.

A mutually supportive community that includes residents, staff, family, volunteers, visiting professionals, local community members and students.
OUR PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
Evergreen has an active Quality Work Like Council which enhances the lives of the staff and residents, providing for exciting events through the year including an Apple Blossom Festival at Evergreen, staff recognition events, and multicultural events, and seasonal treats. We have a strong connection to the community which brings many volunteers and engagement for residents, families and staff from classic car shows to outdoor concerts and everything in between.

Evergreen is an exceptional place to work where life at work is meant to be enjoyed. We are surrounded by beautiful outdoor spaces that all are encouraged to use. Evergreen Home for Special Care has invested in many outdoor spaces for staff, residents, and families to relax and take time to recharge during the busy days. We are located next to the Kentville trail system for travel to and from work as well as to take a break and enjoy all that nature offers.
